Distinctive stoner movie for the fact that its protagonists aren't the usual pair of stupid white guys, but rather a pair of smart, successful Asians. While ethnic minorities have figured strongly in the genre before (Cheech & Chong, anyone?), I don't recall seeing a stoner movie that satirized the pressure cooker environment young professionals must often deal with, and defied racial stereotypes, all the while never flagging in delivering the laughs, quite like Harold & Kumar.
Neil Patrick Harris (TV's Doogie Howser) puts in a remarkable appearance -- as himself.
